Call for Volunteers!
Christchurch Neighbourhood Plan is progressing and the Working Group needs more volunteers. We have been busy identifying the vision of the plan and have established some clear themes from the Scoping Survey conducted. As such we need 4 more enthusiastic and committed people to assist our Councillors and the current volunteers on the Working Group.
About you?
You should be 18 and over and should have a good knowledge of Christchurch and its environs and be committed to our community and the places we live and work in. An understanding of at least one of: Geography, Heritage and Conservation, the local economy and tourism, the ecology and the environment and our transport networks including walking and cycling will all serve you well on the Working Group.
Even if you don’t have Town or Urban Planning experience but are dedicated, committed and knowledgeable in any of the areas listed or similar we want to hear from you.
In terms of commitment required, the Working Group meets fortnightly on a hybrid basis (1 meeting in person, followed by another online via Zoom) and the meetings usually commence at 4:30pm and last an hour. Please do consider the commitment here before applying.
About Neighbourhood Planning
The Neighbourhood Plan shall form part of the suite of the Development Plan Documents that inform planning applications across the Town Council area. The Neighbourhood Plan has to be considered by BCP Council when making decisions on applications in the Christchurch Town area. As such it is a crucial, locally-informed plan that provides the policies which shape the future of Christchurch, for Christchurch.

Deadline for receipt of Applications: 5pm 14th December 2021 After which the Neighbourhood Plan Working Group shall consider the applications and invite those shortlisted to come and interview for the position.
