Christchurch Town Council has announced that its Town Clerk, James Sheehy, is leaving for pastures new from 7th August. The Town Council thanks him for his professional contribution and wishes him all the best for his future.
In the short-term James Atkinson, the Project Officer, will step up as Temporary Acting Town Clerk and Zeynep Aktuna, the Democratic Services Officer will step up as Temporary Acting Assistant Town Clerk.
James Sheehy had initiated a strategic staff review and the Council is taking this opportunity to consolidate its public interface. It will be recruiting additional staff, initially a Community Engagement Officer.
Cllr Viv Charrett, Mayor of Christchurch, said: “In the time James has been with us he has made a significant contribution to our strategic thinking and helped formulate several plans, particularly in relation to engagement with our residents and businesses. We wish him well in the next stage of his career.”
