Events Assistant


Christchurch Town Council is one of the newly formed Town Council’s in Dorset following Local Government Re-Organisation in 2019. The Town Council serves a population of approximately 48,000 residents. As part of its growth and development the Town Council now requires an Events Assistant on a casual basis.


This is an interesting and varied role with scope to take on a variety of different tasks. The main area of work for the events Assistant will be to support the Council in its events and civic functions on a casual basis.

Reporting to the Mayor’s Secretary direct, you will work alongside the Mayor, councillors, members of the public and organisations.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual that has experience in assisting with civic and ceremonial duties and who has the confidence and ability to work and communicate with various individuals, groups and stakeholders across the Council.

You will have experience preferably in the Local Government sector with knowledge of the Town, the Town Council and the local government context across the BCP region.
