Robert (Bob) Luscombe lives in West Christchurch with his wife, Dee, having relocated from Cheshire 5 years ago.

Bob has a background within the Pharmaceutical Industry, working for Glaxo, Reckitt & Colman and AstraZeneca with a degree in Biology and a postgraduate doctorate in microbiology and crop physiology.

Volunteering has been an important part of his life over the last 13 years, working with the local Council and MP’s in Cheshire in support of environmental matters, including several years of successful entries to Britain in Bloom. In addition, he spent several years as a volunteer with The Canals & Rivers Trust, helping to build and maintain our waterways heritage.

Since moving to Dorset, Bob has continued his volunteer activities with National Coastwatch institute, (NCI) as a volunteer Watchkeeper as well as with the Maritime Volunteer Service (MVS) in Christchurch harbour. Together with others over the last year, he has also helped to establish Christchurch Harbour Watch (CHW) in the harbour and adjoining rivers Stour & Avon.

Since May 2022 Bob has chaired the Christchurch Town Neighbourhood Plan Working Group helping to develop the local Neighbourhood Plan for Christchurch Town.
